Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, the ceremony will be held outdoors—surrounded by the natural beauty of Dunton and (hopefully) a dusting of snow. We’ll provide blankets and warm drinks, and the ceremony will be short and sweet. That said, dress warmly and plan to layer: think chic coats, wraps, gloves, and boots. We want you to be comfortable while enjoying the fresh mountain air.

  • We’ve thoughtfully assigned rooms for each guest to make sure everyone is comfortable and well taken care of. Dunton’s accommodations are all unique and beautifully restored, and we tried our best to match each guest with the right space.

  • Honestly, we’re hoping it does! Snow adds to the magic of Dunton in winter. The resort is well-equipped for snow, and all major wedding events are either indoors or have cozy accommodations if they’re outside. In the rare case of a major storm, we’ll be in touch with updated logistics—but otherwise, just pack your boots and embrace the winter wonderland!

  • For the Welcome Party we are asking our guests to dress in “elevated mountain chic.” For the ceremony and reception, formal black tie wear is required.

Warm, weather-appropriate outerwear and shoes are a must (heels may be tough in the snow). The rest of the weekend will be more casual: cozy sweaters, boots, and anything you’d wear to relax by a fire or go on a snowy adventure.

Don’t forget a dark colored swimsuit for the hot springs.

  • Check-in is on Friday, December 12th at 3:00 PM, and check-out is on Sunday, December 14th at 11:00 AM.

All events and meals will take place during this two-night stay.

  • All meals are included from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast. Dunton’s kitchen is incredible, and we’re planning some special meals throughout the weekend—including the wedding dinner and other shared gatherings. If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know in your RSVP so we can pass it along to the chef.

  • Dunton is beautifully remote, so cell service is limited—but Wi-Fi is available in most cabins and common areas. This is the perfect place to unplug, slow down, and enjoy the moment. If you need to be reachable, just let your contacts know ahead of time and plan to use Wi-Fi for communication.
